Florida Pets Aftercare

After losing a pet: your next steps

You can take this one step at a time. Ask your veterinary team for guidance specific to your pet.

  1. Start with your veterinarian. If death has not been confirmed, contact a veterinarian before making aftercare arrangements. Ask for handling and collection guidance.
  2. Decide whether you want ashes returned. Ask how the provider defines private, partitioned/individual, and communal cremation. Request the method and return terms in writing.
  3. Ask for a complete written quote. Include your pet’s weight, collection location, transport, return container, delivery, and any optional keepsakes. Confirm availability directly.
