1. Who We Are
FloridaPetsAftercare.com is an independent pet cremation directory serving Florida families. We are not affiliated with any listed provider. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@floridapetsaftercare.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the directory:
- Email address and name — when you voluntarily sign up for provider update notifications.
- Chat messages — text you send to the AI chat assistant is transmitted to OpenRouter and Anthropic to generate a response. Messages are not stored in our database.
- Usage data — page views and traffic data collected via Google Analytics, including approximate location, browser type, and pages visited. No personally identifiable information is tied to this data.
We do not collect payment information, government IDs, or any sensitive personal data.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To send you email notifications about new verified providers near you (only if you opted in).
- To respond to questions or requests you send us directly.
- To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Email Communications
If you sign up for notifications, you may receive up to 1–2 emails per month about new or updated providers in Florida. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act. We will never send unsolicited commercial email or share your address with third parties.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic patterns. GA4 uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate the site:
- Supabase — database hosting for provider listings and email signups.
- Vercel — website hosting and deployment.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
- OpenRouter / Anthropic — AI chat assistant responses.
- Google Analytics — anonymous traffic analysis.
7. Data Retention
Email addresses collected via signup are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics default settings (26 months). Chat messages are not stored in our database beyond your session. See OpenRouter's privacy policy and Anthropic's privacy policy for their data handling.
8. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Email hello@floridapetsaftercare.com. We will respond within 30 days. Florida residents may also have rights under the Florida Digital Bill of Rights (effective 2024).
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
